Qualification is simple until the numbers are uneven.
Two groups of four are easy. Three groups where the best runners-up also go through, or twelve qualifiers for a bracket built for eight, are not, and the maths usually happens on a whiteboard on the day.
Once the bracket is drawn by hand, every late result means redrawing it and sending it round again.

Which football tournament formats does LeagueUnion support?
Group stages followed by a knockout bracket, including fields where the number of qualifiers is not a power of two. Byes and preliminary matches are calculated for you.
How are knockout pairings seeded?
Qualifiers are ranked and seeded across groups so top-ranked teams are kept apart. Where four teams qualify from each group, first in one group meets fourth in another, and second meets third.
Can I change the qualification rules after the groups start?
Yes. An organiser can save new rules and rebuild the bracket. Rebuilding is only blocked once a knockout match in the current bracket is live or completed.
Can supporters follow the tournament?
Yes. The bracket is public and shows live scores for knockout matches in progress.
